A 5-week comprehensive training program
Learn the ins and outs of a therapy modality that will cater to the mental health and well-being of Muslim clients.
Asalaamualaikum!
I’m Sarah Taher (@muslimwomenpsychology on Instagram) and after much dua’a and hard work, I’m bringing you a comprehensive training course for Muslim therapists (Insha’Allah). This is the result of over ten years in the field. A multi-modal therapy framework that I’ve been practising over the years. It is a trauma-informed method that builds on the CBT framework, incorporating Islam and Islamic principles, theory and proof from the Qur’an and Sunnah seamlessly into the process.
When I finished my Masters from the University of Nottingham and first started training in therapy in Kuwait, there was no such course available to me. I sat in with the best therapists available to me to observe and learn from their techniques. I took on formal training (including from the NACBT) to ensure everything I was doing was professional, ethical and safe for my clients. I worked with children, teenagers and adults to get a feel for what I wanted to specialise in. And I maintained my Islamic studies side by side. Alhamdulillah, today I’m running my own private practice, catering to Muslim women all over the world.
My dua’a for this is that Allah puts barakah in it. That it transforms you into a competent, confident, ethical and effective therapist, strengthens your emaan and takes you forth to benefit the Ummah. May this be a means of benefit for us here and in the aakhirah. Ameen.
Let me outline what you’ll find in the course Insha’Allah:
A complete training course including:
This is a training program for anyone who wants to practice therapy in a way that aligns with Islam. For anyone who wants to work with Muslim clients around the world but isn’t sure how to bridge the gap between their university training and their goals. This program aims to equip you with the knowledge, skillset and tools needs to practice therapy with a clear conscience Insha’Allah.
The RIT training program includes 5 comprehensive, self-study modules, assessments, live one-on-one sessions with me & an internship opportunity (depending on the plan you choose). There are TWO training plans available: basic and premium (more on this below).
Each module will be uploaded weekly. Modules will be taught through videos and PDFs. I have put my heart and soul into designing this – I’m so excited to show it to you! All videos will have a written companion available to download and print Insha’Allah. You may also sign up for weekly, 30 minute one-on-one training with me, which gives you an opportunity to clarify anything you may have missed or ask any questions you may like to ask.
What is the assessment like?
Every module comes with an open-book assessment in the form of multiple-choice questions and/or short answer questions. You may retake the assessment as many times as necessary to get a passing grade.
