Rida & Renewal

A Post-Divorce Support Group for Muslim Women

You’ve already survived the hardest part. This is for what comes next.

A 4-week online support group for Muslim women rebuilding their lives after divorce — grounded in faith, focused on where you’re headed, not where you’ve been.

6–8 women per group · 90-minute weekly sessions · Live via GoogleMeet · Led by a qualified Muslim therapist

The Promise

“Indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease.” – Surah Ash-Sharh, 94:5–6

Divorce is one of the most disorienting things a woman can go through – spiritually, emotionally, socially. And too often, the spaces meant to help end up asking you to relive it, week after week.

Rida & Renewal is different. This isn’t a group where you retell your story on repeat. It’s a space to become grounded in who you are now, reconnect with your worth in Allah’s sight, and take real steps toward the life you’re building – with a small circle of women who understand, and a therapist who gets both the emotional and the spiritual side of this season.

Is This For You?

This group is a good fit if:

  • You’re divorced (roughly within the last 1–4 years) and past the initial crisis or ‘iddah period
  • You’re ready to focus on rebuilding, not on processing what happened in detail
  • You want a space that holds both your emotional healing and your deen
  • You’re craving connection with other Muslim women who get it — without judgment
  • Whether you’re still single, considering a proposal, or newly engaged, you want to keep growing into who you are next

This group isn’t the right fit if you’re in the middle of an active crisis — safety concerns, contentious litigation, or a very recent separation. If that’s you, we’ll gently point you toward one-on-one support first. (Our intake form will help us figure this out together — no awkward gatekeeping, just making sure you get what you actually need.)

What the Four Weeks Look Like

Week 1: Sabr & Sukoon Patience & Tranquility. Ground yourself in where you are today, and set an intention for this season.

Week 2: ‘Izzah Dignity. Untangle your worth from your marital status, and reclaim it as something Allah gave you – not something a marriage granted or took away.

Week 3: Silat ar-Rahim & Hudud Ties & Boundaries. Navigate family, community, and co-parenting with clarity and healthy boundaries – without guilt.

Week 4: Tawakkul & Rida Trust & Contentment. Leave with a real, written vision for what’s ahead, and a plan to keep growing after the group ends.

Each session blends guided reflection, small-group discussion, and practical tools – plus a worksheet to take with you.

Why a Group?

Because healing in isolation is hard, and healing in a room full of women who’ve walked something similar — and who share your faith — is different. You’ll leave each week having been witnessed, not just heard. And you’ll build a small circle of sisters who are rebuilding right alongside you.

Meet Your Facilitator

Safa Javed has walked alongside dozens of Muslim women through this season, and she’s seen how much lighter it gets when you stop carrying it alone. This group is built to give you both the emotional tools and the spiritual grounding to move forward – not around your faith, but through it. Safa is also the associate marriage therapist at Sarah Taher Therapeutic Solutions

FAQs

Do I have to share details about my divorce? No. This group is intentionally forward-focused  – you’re welcome to reference your story as needed, but you won’t be asked to walk through it in detail.

What if I’m not ready to talk in a group yet? That’s okay, and worth naming on your intake form. We may suggest individual support first, and you’re always welcome to join a future group when the time feels right.

Is this therapy? No – this is a support and growth group, facilitated by a qualified therapist, but it isn’t a substitute for individual therapy. If you’re in an active crisis, we’ll help connect you to the right kind of support Insha’Allah.

What if I’m engaged or considering a proposal – can I still join? Yes. This group welcomes women at different points in their journey, as long as you’re past the initial crisis period and focused on moving forward.

Is my privacy protected? Yes. What’s shared in the group stays in the group, and your intake form is reviewed only by the facilitator.

You don’t have to carry this season alone.
